Twin Flame Journal

Twin Flame Journal
vs Day One

Day One is the best-known journaling app there is, for good reasons. Twin Flame Journal is smaller and built for one journey. Here's where each is the better choice.

The short version

Choose Day One if

  • End-to-end encryption matters most to you. Day One encrypts journals end to end by default, even on its free plan. Twin Flame Journal encrypts entries at rest and in transit, but it is not end-to-end encrypted.
  • You want a long track record. Over 150,000 five-star reviews, an Apple Design Award and Editors' Choice, and 4.8 from about 119,000 US App Store ratings. Twin Flame Journal has no ratings yet.
  • You write on lots of devices. iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android, Windows and the web.
  • You mostly want to record your life, with plenty of photos and video, and AI is optional. Day One Silver is $49.99 a year with no AI, and there's a 1-month free trial.

Choose Twin Flame Journal if

  • You want an AI companion without paying for the top tier. Iris gives you three reflections a day free, and unlimited with Pro at $69.99 a year. Day One's AI is in Gold, at $74.99 a year, with daily limits.
  • The twin flame connection is what you're working through. Mood check-ins, Iris, and articles on each stage of the journey and on the chakras, all pointing back to you.
  • You want an AI that stays honest about what it can't know. Iris won't predict a reunion or read meaning into someone's silence.
  • You want sealed letters and a scrapbook alongside the writing. Letters to your future self stay unreadable until their date, and the scrapbook is for the good days.
